EC Glass Hovercraft

Things That Go
The EC Glass Hovercraft is a hovercraft made by a Woodshop teacher at Dunbar a few years ago. It was found behind EC Glass falling apart and dilapidated. Braedon Watson and Kyler Englund saw this project and wanted to take it in to get it running again. Since then they have been working on it in the EC Glass Auto Technology shop for two years. They have added lights horns and a roof to this project and got the engine running again. Braedon and Kyler hope to get some sponsor money and get the hovercraft in full working order again and inspire young makers of all ages.

What inspired you to make this project?
We are not the ones who built it completely. Kyler and Braedon saw this cool project abandoned and are trying to get it running with more features than it had before. We have worked on this hovercraft for 2 years now and have got its engine running, as well as building a roof with a light bar, lights and car horns.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
We have encountered proper material problems and financial ones too. We really want the hovercraft to look pretty but we have had to use scraps from the local EC Glass woodshop and scrap metal and wires to get it running. We also used old car and tractor parts to make the horns lights and seats.
