What is Maker Faire?

Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.

We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Glimpse the future and get inspired!

About Our Maker Faire

Lynchburg Maker Faire is back for the fifth year at Randolph College, 2500 Rivermont Avenue in Lynchburg, Virginia! Tied into Randolph’s amazing week-long SciFest event, Maker Faire is a celebration of those who make and those with an insatiable curiosity for the world. We are excited to show you the amazing projects, delightful products, and interactive learning activities the makers in our area have come up with.

Lynchburg Maker Faire is brought to you by Vector Space, Lynchburg’s full service community makerspace. Our 23,000 sq ft workshop boasts wood and metal shops, electronics and textile areas, classroom and meeting space, computer lab, laser cutters and 3D printers, and open workspace for makers. Join us as a member and come make something awesome!

Maker Faire originated in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine.  It has since grown into a significant worldwide network of both flagship and independently-produced events.
