Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

PRS Kart - Safety Third Racing
Safety Third Racing joins the Power Racing Series fun with our custom-built electric kart. Simple, lightweight, and built with off the shelf parts. This kart showcases how everyday materials, recycled parts, and a bit of garage engineering can be turned into a surprisingly capable racing machine. Stop by the Power Racing Series track during the day to see team Safety Third Racing in action, check out the kart up close, and learn how makers, students, and hobbyists are transforming everyday components into wild racing machines.

Make something magical and learn about your local community makerspace, VECTOR SPACE! We are so excited to share projects we love, get your hands into some making and let you know how we can be maker friends year round!
Interactive Mural
This interactive mural explores the space between digital precision and human gesture. Created in collaboration with local artists, the work combines abstract art through audience participation. Visitors can paint components to add to the mosiac. Instruction for introductory painting techniques will be offered for makers of all ages. As pieces are added, the mural grows into a collective composition shaped by many hands, emphasizing process, experimentation, and shared making.
Hill City Homebrewers
We are a local club of homebrewers, mostly related to beer, mead & cider, but have had fun with several other categories of fermentation.
Make the Best Future
Visitors to the Citizens' Climate Lobby exhibit will design and build wind turbines to generate the most electricity. They will test their turbines and the best ones will be entered on the leader board. Visitors will also try to find the best climate solutions using the the MIT Enroads climate simulator. Visitors will try many emissions reductions approaches to keep warming of our planet below 2 degrees C. The simulator enables users to learn which actions really provide meaningful reductions in emissions. And as a bonus, visitors will learn the art of making origami Citizens' Climate Froggies.
MAKE Roanoke
Come engrave a keychain at MAKE Roanoke's booth using our pantograph engraver. Stay and compete in a friendly game of Hextraction while you learn more about Roanoke's first non-profit makerspace!
OpenELAB Inc. – Hands-on Robotics & AI Hardware for Makers
OpenELAB provides high-quality developer electronics for students, makers, and engineers who want to learn by building real projects. Visitors can explore projects such as a smart pet box built with M5Stack controllers that monitors and controls temperature and humidity, an AI-powered instant photo camera based on Raspberry Pi that creates stylized prints, a smart energy system using Arduino to demonstrate solar power management, and a LEGO-based robotics demo featuring a programmable motor and digital dashboard. Each project is designed to be approachable and engaging, allowing attendees to see how sensors, controllers, and embedded systems work together in real-world applications. Our booth encourages curiosity, experimentation, and learning through hands-on interaction.
Brewers' Tasting by Rosetta Coffee Company
Stop by to learn a little (or a lot!) about coffee and how the brewing process impacts the flavor! Check out how coffee is processed around the world, how it's roasted to bring out different flavors, and taste different brewing methods and roast levels. We'll be set up with at least 4 different brewing methods and showcasing some of our most popular light, medium, and dark roasts to give you a chance to learn about the best ways to brew coffee, and maybe even find a new favorite!
