Nufar Studio Designs

Fashion
Nufar Studio Designs is a jewelry business that I started 5 years ago that displays handmade jewelry inspired by the earth. These eclectic pieces feature natural resources, some even being local (like "sea" glass from the James River). My "Trash to Treasure Project" focuses on repurposing glass found on the shores of the James River. The glass is then cleaned, polished, and wire-wrapped into pendants used for varies styles of necklaces and keychains. Not only is each piece unique, it's also a statement: one that emphasizes the importance of keeping our local rivers clean. Apart from that project, I also offer handmade rings made out of buttons, and eclectic earrings, necklaces, and bracelets.

What inspired you to make this project?
Since 2020, I have been designing and hand-making jewelry that feels authentic to me; Ones that aren't typically found in stores here, but resemble international and eclectic styles found around the globe. I'm fascinated by color theory and attempt to help customers find pieces that elevate their natural features, and compliment their personal style. I also implement sustainable practices in a majority of my jewelry, like my "Trash to Treasure Project" where I repurpose glass found on the shores of the James River, and turn them into unique pendants for necklaces and keychains.

What are some of the challenges you have encountered and how did you address them?
Nothing come to mind. Anything is possible.
