What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

Signature Sunshine
Signature Sunshine is my handmade art representing nature through a creative lens. I will be showcasing some original prints and acrylic paintings. I like to capture the natural world around us in a whimsical way! Some of my art includes exotic birds, magical forests, and magical creatures.
Learn to Solder with L3Harris
The Soldering booth will leverage equipment from Vector Space's makerspace facility to introduce attendees to soldering. We will solder a small circuit board that will be co-branded Vector Space and L3Harris. The board will have a switch, a light bulb, and a resistor. Attendees will learn how to complete a circuit and solder the elements to the board and walk away with a functioning keepsake that displays their newly learned skill. L3Harris volunteers will assist and run the booth for the duration of the event (11-4pm) in three shifts.
501st Legion & Mando Mercs Costume Clubs
The 501st Legion and Mando Mercs are both charity Star Wars costuming clubs that are recognized by both Lucasfilm and Disney.
Hill City Homebrewers
We are a local club of homebrewers, mostly related to beer, mead & cider, but have had fun with several other categories of fermentation.
Interactive Mural
This interactive mural explores the space between digital precision and human gesture. Created in collaboration with local artists, the work combines abstract art through audience participation. Visitors can paint components to add to the mosiac. Instruction for introductory painting techniques will be offered for makers of all ages. As pieces are added, the mural grows into a collective composition shaped by many hands, emphasizing process, experimentation, and shared making.
Mad Max Kart
The Mad Max kart is racing for victory. This kart was built at Vector Space, Lynchburg's community makerspace, by talented and dedicated members.

Sweet Briar College Summer Programs
Sweet Briar offers summer programs for children, high-school aged young adults, and adults for many different interests and topics. Organizations of all kinds make our 2,847-acre campus their own when they hold camps and conferences at Sweet Briar. Each summer, our 22 miles of trails, forests, streams, meadows, and lakes inspire the work of high school engineers, writers, athletes, musicians, leaders, and more.
